Evaluation question three and four.

what kind of media institution might distribute your media product and why? how will you attract/address your audience.
Film distrubition involves deciding which cinemas a particular film is shown in.Marketing and adversting is very important when considering distrubition.Alot of distrubited films and adversiting needs to be worldworld in order to make money and make it big in the world of film.The main distrubtion of films is centered around hollywood. A main distrubiter from hollywood is Paramount pictures.I feel my film would not get distrubited by Paramount as they are a main stream company which only produces and distrubites main blockbusters like "sherk".So therefore i feel,The production company that would distribute 'solo' is a company Icon. Thier current releases include its a wonderful afterlife, edge of darkness and precious.They would distribute our production because its a low budget film that can be distrubuted it many ways such as; billboards, fast food toys, social network and various websites banners.There is also out of house advertising could be used such as newspaper articles. These adversting methods are vital if the company wants alot of people to go cinema to ensure they make profit.

Different types of adverstisments.

The interent - alot of production companies uses the internet as its the biggest source of adversting as young people are on it alot of the time. This would appeal to our audience as its teenagers and young adults which are very 'tech savy' and find the internet more appealing than books in most cases. They could use websights such as; facebook and youtube, this is because these are mainstream very popular websights for our target audience. Thriller seekers which we would be looking for to see our film could see a banner or a trailer on these websights which would make them go see our film.

magazienes,newspapers and billboards- The media is a very powerful source when it is used properly. I feel i could adress my audience of teenagers and young adults through magazines such as Now or Hello for female teenagers and young audienes as theses would be there regular readers. the company icon could put a compatition which would invole giving the readers an oportunity to see "solo". Also putting an colour insert of an advert of "solo" in free newspapers such as the london lite would appeal to students and older. This would mean loads of people would see it and hopefully follow through and go cinema to watch it.

There are two ways in which icon can distrubite it to the cinema. There is wide release like Star Trek (2009)was distributed, it is where the film gets sent to every country all at the same time. This is very expensive method and would only get used by main stream companies E.G Paramount, but it cuts down privacy dramatically which increases profits. On the other hand there is modified wide release, this is where it gets released to certain countries first then other ones later. I think icon would use modified wide release as it is cheaper.
