Comparing "Solo" with "Dare", a thriller clip about dares leading to death, we are able to establish how we use different or similar methods to attract the same particular audience of males and females ages 16-24. Also, we are able to discuss why the Internet and low budget media institutions help to distribute the type of products we produce.
Despite being a homemade film, the Internet has helped to distribute this film for many reasons, one being the gender of the characters. Films of a thriller genre are usually based on the male, superior characters however, in both "Dare" and "Solo", we have contrasted this stereotype. This allows females to also feel superior and have the status of a bold and strong character. Similarly, we both use females as the weak characters which highlights the stereotype of a the weak gender.
