Before we were let outside with the cameras we were given a tutorial on everything about the camera, from how to turn it on to how to stand it on a tripod. The aim to today's lesson was get to grips with the cameras and how to edit our own footage as a practise for when we do our thriller. Also the fact that the cameras were extremely expensive meant we had to have very good knowledge of the cameras or else thing could go horribly wrong. We we first shown the basics of how to turn the camera on and off using a button on the side. How to slide in the battery and insert the memory cards were also some of the basics which we learnt. Once we had our cameras on we were shown how to use basic functions such as zoom in and out (a technique which was not recommended). We also went over the basic rules of filming such as where to position the subject and the rules of the screen. Once we given our tutorial we then were given briefs of what to film. We then headed outside to film our work using eveything we had just been taught.
