our practise match cut exersize
This was our first practise of a match cut. Our task was to film any situration as long as it included a match cut, this was our first exersize where we made a story bored and had to think of our own plans and actully film it. This gave us the first experience of making a story board and seeing how hard it is to fill up the shots. we had to do about 20shots, this sounded easy but as we tried to complete this task we relised how hard this was. This was useful because it gave us a chance to see how hard it was and how much thought our final product will need and hard work it will take.
This sequence started off with me, the main charactor, walking up the stairs its shows the back of me walking up. Then it goes to my point of view shot, looking out the glass to see the view. Then this is were the match cut was shown, as there was various shots as i go to reach for the door. This took many shots and i relised it was harder than i thought it was, espically when it came to editing as it didnt run as smooth as it could, so a cross disove was needed. Finally i walk into a room, where another charactor, christel was sitting we manage to do a shot-reverse-shot of me and christel talking. Trying to keep the camera on the correct side, following the 180 degree rule was hard and we kept messing it up as we relised after.when filming the final project, we will have to take into consideration that time is vital. This is because by the time the deadline came, we manage to do titles but the soundtrack was one beat played all the way through. This wouldnt be good enough for the final project to get full marks.
