The art of the title sequence

ART OF THE TILE SEQUENCE

DAWN OF THE DEAD

The Dawn of the dead title sequence builds up suspense as soon as its shown. the theme is scary/uneasy . this makes us as viewers feel suspicious of whats going to happen next or in the movie. the sequence starts of with a black background and small red writing in the corner . then we get to see a short clip of people after that we see the black background with red writing again. the same thing happens repeatedly. however after the first clip is shown we see images that flash and then the plain background and writing comes back. these images are very gruesome. they consist of blood and gore which are quiet disturbing. after this the name of the film (the title of the film) appears. this writing is much bigger than the writing that was shown before and it is in the center on the screen but its still red and on a black background. the writing blurs out like as if its blood on our television screen. then we see a short clip of soldiers then the writing comes back. the writing shows names of the people within the movie. we see more images and short clips of people getting heart and with this there is a voice over. there is digetic sound of screams. we then see the president being questioned about "the people" and his answer is he does not know. this makes us feel even more scared because we expect the president to know whats going on. we then see people getting shot buy guns and a lot of people getting killed. we see people running for their lives. we also see women and children. we see a clip of the news being recorded and being shown on live television. soon after there is a non-digetic sound of a man singing at the beginning it sounds like he's talking then soon after it turns in a song. we see a ambulance van getting blown up. we see clips of people all around the world. the same thing happens everywhere. This is what builds up the suspense because we know that there is no were to escape. that there is no help for anyone. this is what makes the title sequence very effective. it leaves viewers with a thrill and a suspence of whats going to happen in the film. This is a good tecnnique of bringing viewrs in.
