How Is Suspense Created In The Thriller You Watched In Class?

The thriller that my class watched was a film called 'No Country For Old Men' . Because i wasn't there to watch the whole fim i decided to write about how suspense is created in the film 'One Hour Photo' . The film is a Psychological thriller about a photo techincian who develops an obssession with a family. An example of suspense in the fil is when Sy the technician played by Robin Williams has a dream, in which he was isolated, dressed in all white in an isle that was all white. This at first portrays peace and tranqulity as he is just standing there with his eyes closed as if in a state of meditation. Then there is an extreme close up of his face with his eyes yet again closed and the audience is still led to believe that he is at peace. The peaceful music in the background gets faster and louder indicating something is going to happen, then he suddenly opens his blood filled eyes. He then starts screaming as blood squirts out from his eyes, then suddenly he wakes up from his dream.
Another example of suspense within the film is when he appears the hotel room to confront the cheating husband. Sy has a gun and the audience is led to believe that he is going to shoot the man and the woman he is cheating with. The shot then goes on to show the man's worried wife and the police who are trying to catch Sy before he does any damage. The scene goes back to the hotel room and we can see that he has not harmed either the man or the woman as we would have believed but he in forcing them to take compromising images, to show the mans wife so she can end the marriage.
